UR7s has developed it’s Outreach Academy with great success in East Africa and Asia. Growing and expanding the game in schools, villages, townships and far flung areas of the 7s world giving everyone the chance to play the Olympic sport of rugby 7s and receive world class coaching.

The UR7s SA coaches alongside it’s partners based out the Hamiltons club in Cape Town want to develop the next group of great rugby 7s players and backgrounds and heritage have no impact. UR7s coaches deliver the same world class coaching be it at Hamiltons or at local venues.

Rugby is one of the morally strongest sports in the world and it’s Olympic inclusion only further underlines this. UR7s SA have developed a ‘social mobility and morals’ module that is addressed at the beginning of every session to help all of the young players on and off the field with whatever challenges life might throw at them.

Aspirational Role Models

Many of the UR7s SA coaches have come from similar backgrounds and similar programs have made it possible for them to follow their dreams. These coaches will use their experiences to help the next group of players reach for their Olympic aspirations.

During Rugby 7s week, boys and girls from the Khayelitsha township got to meet some of their heroes in the World Sevens Series winning Fiji Sevens team and coach Ben Ryan when they joined a UR7s SA Outreach session
